An ancient Chinese curse, goes something like this “may you live in interesting times.” I’m sure this past year many of us have had cause to wonder if we were cursed, blessed or somewhere in between. We’ve had SARS, West Nile virus, Mad Cow Disease, Forest Fires and Floods. We’ve had Viruses, Worms, Flu Bugs Softwood Lumber Exports winding down, global anxiety and worse..no NHL Hockey!! Yet at the same time, we’ve had one of the hottest and longest summers this past year and of the longest and hottest Real Estate markets, on record. Residential and commercial construction starts are way up. Some sectors of the Stock Markets are again performing “robustly.” Employment is up, inflation is under control, and interest rates continue to run at a 40 year low. Every financial institution in the land wants to lend us money and the “2010 Olympics” are coming to BC!

  Most importantly, my kids still hug me every day. Our family and friends are healthy, we have overflowing energy, and every day I feel I have more enthusiasm for life and work. I know tomorrow the sun will rise again and somewhere in this beautiful area there is yet a new recreation activity for us all to enjoy, or community event to be apart of. As I reflect, I realize I am very thankful for my wonderful friends and relatives.
